One of the greatest elements of embroidery is being encouraged to repeatedly stab something.
During the 2020 pandemic, I found myself furloughed, and spending A LOT more time at home. I have two young children, and eventually adopted a second dog. I needed something to keep my hands busy while binge-watching Netflix every night after my kids went to bed. So, I ordered a couple of embroidery kits on Amazon. Then I started ordering supplies from craft stores. Then I started ordering embroidery patterns from other Etsy sellers. Stabbing something over and over again was very soothing, and the end results very satisfying.
Eventually, my unemployment benefits were cancelled (because I chose to homeschool my children during the pandemic and couldn't look for new full-time work). To supplement my part-time, freelance copy writing, I decided to get serious about selling my embroidery work. I have sold things just via Instagram, but now it's time to dust off the ol' Etsy shop and give it life again.
Thank you for visiting, and thank you for supporting small business.
